Why Calima Zone?

We choose Calima as it is a site that is close to the city, in their time has brought us a lot of fun, is a place of rest and contact with nature where you can to have a good time surrounded by family, friends and loved ones, leaving the daily routine that a city brings.The climate is suitable and constant change makes it possible to enjoy different activities. Also it is one of the most visited by people from outside the region and that any person coming to Valle del Cauca to be missed this experience.

Our Opinions

What I like is that Lake Calima is a site near the city of Cali, which can be shared with family and friends. The weather is nice and there are a variety of activities that you can entertain.

The downside that I see is the little town hotel capacity there, most of the stay is done especially in the farms and ranches that are located around them.

What I like Calima  is its diverse landscape, climate and you can enjoy sunny days where you can enjoy swimming and the lake itself, and nights with the sky full of stars with a temperate climate where you can enjoy the gastronomy of the area such as corn arepas and a hot cup of chocolate.

What I dislike is the congestion that occurs from Mediacanoa until  Puente Tierra where large trucks take up space on the road and the vehicle flow slows. In addition, as at this time the road is a reconstruction, the road has deteriorated.

Festivities

Religion with a bit of fun.

Faith and religious people also have a space in the Calima.Restrepo is a town full of faith, devout people, worship the Virgen del Carmen who would devote an entire week to worship, asking and thanking.Not only the faith of these people is characteristic of the region, having the second highest church in Colombia is a sign of pride.

The festivities are accompanied by Masses, walking processions, all decorated with beautiful flowers in the area. To end this week religious community meets in Central Park and enjoy a fireworks spectacular glow in the sky.

Calima, Extreme Sports and Adventure

For you, extreme adventure lover, Calima is the best option. The climate and have the second strongest winds in South America, Lake Calima make the best place for water sports. Surf, Kayak, Sky nautical, sailing, diving and jet skiing.And not only is no adventure in water, on land as well as you can find. Mountain biking, rock climbing, rappelling and cavalcades are some of the adventures you can find.

Cradle Of Calima Culture

Calima culture, is a set of ancient cultures that inhabited the department of Valle del Cauca. The excavations, studies and findings metalwork and pottery indicate that the region was densely populated and that was a major center of jewelry, making this region a center of Indian trade.

Restrepo is the only city with a park museum where you will find copies, "guacas" and representative pieces of this mysterious culture.

Calima consists of 2 beatiful cities, Darien and Restrepo. Both are beatiful cities, surrounde by beatiful mountains in different colors, a unique climate, warm mornings and cold nights. From Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport, there is a distance of 85 km, plus you get from the Coffee Area in a time of 1 hour 30 minutes through a safe and easy routes.
